Spoke N Word Cycles

We are conveniently located on the historic Plaza in downtown Socorro. The store is pretty easy to find. We are right between the Capital Bar and The Manzanares Street Coffee House. To many, it's the old Doug West Gallery, to others, it's the Tribe of Kay that they remember in our location.

102 Plaza storefront

From the North

From I-25, take the first exit into Socorro. Take California Street about a mile to Manzanares and turn right. The shop is immediately on your left.

From the South

From I-25, take the first exit into Socorro. Head north along California Street and take a left onto Manzanares which leads to the Plaza. Swing around the one-way Plaza and park right out in front of our shop.

From the West

Magdalena, Datil, Pie Town, Quemado, Springerville...

Take Hwy 60 east into Socorro. As you approach the first stopsign in Socorro, veer left (onto Neel). Go right on Fisher to the Plaza.

The other way to get here is to take Hwy 60 all the way to California Street, then go left and then left again on Manzanares. Either way, the Plaza is only half a mile from the outskirts of town.

Directions to the Cerrillos Del Coyote Race Course

Ok Ok we have been getting a lot of questions about how to get to the race course, and for a GPX file of the course. Now, most of this information is available at the Socorro Striders and Riders website. But here is my comtribution to clogging the net. (Use at your own risk).

The start of the XC is on the Quebradas Backcountry Byway, about 8.8 miles from the Socorro Plaza. To get there:

  1. Take I-25 to Exit 152
  2. Turn East, following the county road to Escondida Lake Park. (1.6 mi)
  3. Turn right, cross the Rio Grande, to the "T" at the village of Pueblitos. (0.8 mi)
  4. Turn right, to the start of the Quebradas Backcountry Byway. (0.9 mi)
  5. Turn left, to the race start. (~2.6 mi)
